Welcome to our blog! Join us as we journey through the controversial issue of immigration in the United States. We have focused on researching Latino immigration over the Mexican border, and how this topic is portrayed in the news media and editorial cartoons.
We chose to focus on three main immigration aspects that are commonly framed in the media today.
1. Immigrants are framed as criminals and peons.
2. Immigrants are framed as a burden to our economy through aspects such as employment, taxes, and health care.
3. U.S. Immigration Laws are framed as inconsistent and unsuccessful.
